Without reliable ventilation, it is impossible to maintain a healthy indoor climate in swimming pools and water centers, where the air is humid. In these buildings, ventilation provides an optimal indoor climate, controls humidity, and prevents condensation buildup and mold growth. Modern ventilation systems create a pleasant environment for visitors and staff, keep the building in good condition, and reduce energy costs.
The Mirabel Aquatic Center has an area of 67,800 ft2 and is designed for 700 visitors, so the issue of proper air exchange and a comfortable indoor climate for this large-scale facility was quite serious. To ensure proper air exchange and comfortable conditions for visitors at the aqua center, a powerful BlauAir BL15 heat recovery unit with an air flow of over 8800 CFM from Blauberg North America was installed here thanks to a strong partnership with Master Group.
Why this unit matters?
- Tailored to fit. Factory-configured to the architect’s footprint, with EC fans and a >80 % heat-recovery core.
- Integration made easy. The BL15 ships BMS-ready, so the facility team can plug it into their controls network, set dew-point targets, and watch performance in real time.
- Canadian-winter ready. Integral pre-heat and demand-defrost maintain airflow without ice build-up-so swimmers stay warm and the building stays dry.
The Mirabel aquatic facility includes two swimming pools (a 10-lane sports pool and a recreational pool), a beach area, a children's area with playground equipment and a slide, multipurpose halls, changing rooms, and administrative facilities. We are proud that the numerous visitors to the aqua center will breathe fresh air and feel comfortable thanks to Blauberg ventilation equipment.
